In the good old days, a voluminous ASIO file was de rigeur for many writers and literary groups. Ironically, some of the spook collections are now available in the Australian National Library and are valuable resources on the lives of some of Australia's greatest writers.
Phillip Adams' fronting of the spooks years later to correct his file was hilarious.
