imo there isnt really much to this story. the risk of a civil war situation playing out is always gonna be there in a country like Madagascar, someone is always gonna be playing 3-D political chess and alleging all sorts of shit to western news sources. western media hates presidents that want to do extended terms behind the normal 6-8 years or whatever it is.

I think longer than usual terms are completely fine and democratic views can still be upholded. and will also benefit the people more in countries that require huge amounts of organisational power to develop you want experienced people in jobs of authority to get everyone into better living standards not some new dope every 4 years.
