I agree the POL is the current focus and the main game. However I've also worked for large multi nationals and had to do the corporate training thing yearly to reinforce what the difference between a gift and an incentive was.
Given the size of the bonus options granted to an outside party relative to the cost of the Malawi deal, I believe it would have been ringing bells at the last company I worked.
Although I'm pragmatic about what goes on in the boardroom, some corporate governance issues do need to be properly implement not just stated as a general guideline for window dressing.
