The AELB can change whatever planning and license conditions they like whenever they like. Remember Lynas signed a letter promising to send WLP back to Australia if required.

Lynas successfully proved the WLP can be recycled into condisoil and submitted an approval application in June 2017. The AELB did nothing with it over a 10 month period. Why?

Now that PH is in power it’s expected the AELB will approve condisoil. Doubt it. Clearly it’s a contentious issue.

Wonder what costs would be to send back and store WLP in Australia. Doubt Lynas would want to send back the huge volumes of NUF so would need to continue research and development using other material to dilute WLP.
They can easily get rid of the NUF in Malaysia as landfill.

More I think about it the more sense it makes. Send the WLP back to Australia and problem is solved. That would be the political solution IMO.
