If this rumour is correct, then worries on the current PDF in the forest will be greatly reduced! Glad Amanda and her team are actively trying to figure out backup plans on if the current PDF proposed site might get rejected. Super happy they're spending effort into trying to weigh up every avenue they have!
The new proposed site is literally next door to Lynas, so no need for a 13KM trip. The old proposed cost as per the 2020 Annual Report (https://lynasrareearths.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/LYC_AR20-30Sep20-LODGE-2122450-1.pdf) for the PDF in the forest was MYR 400M, or around $136M AUD (0.34 conversion rate as at October 2020). If the new site turns to be a cheaper, safer and less controversial site, then clearly this is a win for Lynas!
