There may be some confusion as to what is in contention. There's hardly a doubt that the licence WILL be renewed. What is in doubt is the removal of the conditions attached to the licence by the Mahathir govt during the Yeo Bee Yin fiasco. This in effect requires Lynas to stop cracking and leaching operations in Malaysia, thereby requiring Kal cracking and leaching to be operational soon so that Malaysia dors not have to deal with the byproducts the anti Lynas brigade have deemed dangerously radioactive. Lynas has requested the conditions to be scrapped, a request that the government is reported to have denied.
