I support Labor on IR , the Carbon Tax , the MRRT , the NBN and the NDIS.
But offshore processing stopping the boats is a myth.
The simple fact is last time the boats slowed down was due to push factors in the region as soon as those factors changed the boat numbers dropped and when they changed again the boat numbers rose.
This labor policy was a simple grab for xenophobic swing voters in certain marginal seats and yes they should be feel as much shame as the Coalition on this issue for pandering to the lowest common denominator , fear of other races.
Not without a big change in our laws can offshore processing ever happen again with this ruling.

The parliament would have to give the minister the power and I can't see it getting through this parliament or even the next as the greens will have contorl of the senate and the Coalition and Labor have shown a reluctance to help each other on this issue , preferring to see each other fail rather than come to some acceptable sensible bipartisan solution for the good of the country.
