Here's how Wikipedia defines the word: a term of abuse aimed at a prejudiced or closed-minded person, especially one who is intolerant or hostile towards different social groups (especially, and originally, other religious groups), and especially one whose own beliefs are perceived as unreasonable or excessively narrow-minded, superstitious, or hypocritical.

Clearly, same sex marriage is an important issue to many people, who see it as an issue of equal rights. You're attempt at denying them is feeble and pathetic.
Why don't you just get on with your own life and stop telling other people what to do with theirs. Oh, you're conservative, you can't. You believe you have some sort of right to tell others what to do. You haven't. If you don't want to marry a lesbian then don't, but please don't deny others what they want to do.
Oh, apropos the plebiscite, is it binding on parliamentarians; will there be compulsory voting; if not why not; where is the provision in the Constitution for a plebiscite; what are the rules surroumding such an event?
