I notice that 70 people have written an open letter to the new Attorney General and also to Kevin Rudd.
These include the usual very vocal lefties - Malcolm Fraser, Julian Burnside, Noam Chomsky and feminist Eva Cox.
They want Rudd and Roxon to warn the US not to "manufacture charges" against Julian Assange.
