What I was trying to illustrate by the additional labelling I placed on FAR's areal map above was that things seem so uncertain in the FAR camp that the peripheral limits of the oil sands depicted in the "seismic cartoon" do not even roughly approximate the areal extent limits depicted in the "areal blob cartoon" as you call it. In fact the areal extent of the latter is approximately 3 times the former.

I actually emailed FAR this evening to ask them whether we are looking at a 125sq km field as implied by their seismic image or a 375sq km field as implied by their areal image and once we have determined the answer to that we can then begin to more reliably imagine how many infill wells and continuity investigations would, as you say, be required to convert all or some of any extended thin sand area into actual reserves (as you discuss).
