I understand that CNOOC was the the one that approached FAR not the other way round. You'll have to wonder why, and also the timing of the AMI is a bit of a give away. The 1st price would be the 35% or part of that, of SNE and if that fails, I think it would be A2 and A5; or both.
Definitely a lot going on behind the scene.
