So... the road network in DRC may have improved a bit over the last couple of decades, but around a third of all bridges are temporary i.e. log bridges? On the plus side, at least there are some bridges that are in decent condition. Granted, they're the minority of bridges, but it's something.

As for the roads... it's not like road-building is out of scope for a particularly committed miner. FFX is about to undertake a bit of road building as we speak. Sure, it's only a couple of kilometres worth of road to connect to a main road, but it's doable. Not cheap, though.
