Based on its recent DRS, TRE looks to be very promising investment but then I began reading about Mali.

A few days ago, the Mali Government kidnapped RSG executives, including the CEO and is holding them in detention until they make good on so called tax irregularities. This follows soon after they did the same to Barrick who then settled up with the Government to get their people freed.
Of course, this why the TRE SP dropped 18% yesterday.
On the surface, TRE now looks very cheap, as does RSG and could be a great investment if you are brave enough to think TRE can avoid forced negotiations about extra revenue for the Government.

But, there is more to it than this.
Under the new Mining Code put in place by Mali, the Government and a range of citizens get 35% free carried from new gold mines. Take that 35% out of the DFS and TRE does not look nearly so cheap. The costs remain unchanged while the revenue drops by 35%. Beyond that there is taxation to be paid and the Mali Government is showing that it conducts its tax affairs through the barrel of a gun.

I am unsure that I am brave enough or stupid enough to invest in TRE, and will anyone else do so?.
