I can't recall ever seeing a takeover launched whilst the target company is in a trading halt. Is there any technical reason why it couldn't occur? Moreover, is there any business reason why it would occur. Would a preditor simply wait in the wings until the 29th, watching to see if they do or don't get the new finance, or have to do a capital raising at a deep discount, before pouncing?
