prhb, just because one can't prove the one theory that the other is acceptable. Just because I, personally, can't prove the scientific theory that doesn't mean that the theological one is right -and vice versa.
As for the man who turned his hand into a piece of meat, he didn't do it "in the name of religion," but because of it. His religion demanded that he chopped his hand off, much like a doctor you trust and have faith in, ordering an appendectomy for you.
pecs, in all respects, the bible is not a very good book. I've read far better.
