It is discrimatory and racist to bring his culture into it. In Australia it is an illegal act and as such he should be charged as an equal citizen for the offences.
To allow for cultural difference is reverse discrimination.
It is no different to a driver killing someone citing alcoholism as the reason for the accident and pleading diminished responsibility.
It's time minority groups accept that when in Australia they're bound by OUR criminal code and pleading ignorance is irrelevant.
