    This was a deliberate act. The theme from Titanic was playing when they hit the rocks. Just a huge coincidence? Sure.
    The captain set a world record for departing the ship, and actually shouted "Abandon Ship" as the lifeboat pulled away. A bit late one could say. The only possible explanation is that he KNEW it was going to happen and was prepared for it.
    He tried to catch a taxi on shore. Why? perhaps because his pizza was in the oven and would have burned his house down if he had not turned the oven off. A good enough reason to steer for the rocks I might add.(my theory only).

    Anyway for all those indignant people who from the comfort of their chairs reckon he should have stayed on the bridge and saluted the Italian flag as the ship went down, all I can say is... how can you stand on a vertical deck? Could he have stood on the side of the ship instead I hear you say? well that is for the Court Of Enquiry to determine... not us.
