Looks like the poster Vacre on the other thread found a coal drying company that is just starting to go commercial around the world.
Micro-coal, a canadian company that utilises the excess electricity from a coal power generator to microwave the moisture out of the coal down to 10%. Low capex, $40 million for a 1000MW generator unit. Already signed on to construct in Banjarmasin, Indonesia. Looking to deal with the Poles and U.S. coal fired generators.
Going by their website they are not yet looking for business in Australia or India.
Sounds like Micro-coal are moving very quickly to commercialising their tech for drying coal feedstock for existing low rank coal power generators.
IMO this tech is just another example of the paradigm shift towards higher consumption of low rank coal. Not a competitor to Exergen who will utilise DICE power generators but Micro-coal should be seen as a threat to other brown coal drying techs that provide feedstock for brown coal boilers.
