Didn't he explicitly state that it was tough going in the wet weather and therefore the workers were taking several weeks off? It was very implicit that the weather was why they were off, and that the several weeks they would be off coincided exactly with the end of the wet season.
There is no exploration delay. Exploration was always going to start in April. I think UN was scheduled for the second week of April. I'm not suggesting it now won't be the third or fourth week of April. But everyone is quibbling here about a POSSIBLE *small* delay that MIGHT occur in the next few weeks. The dry season is 6-7 months long and will be full of activity. Whether it starts 0.5 months late or whatever really isn't a major concern in the scheme of things if that even eventuates.
For what it's worth Accuweather says it's dry and sunny for the next 7 days. *shrugs*
That said, we definitely are due for a announcement outlining the plans for the drilling and testing that will start sometime in the next 30 days. They have tended to have anns regarding getting back to work released late March before the dry season ticks over. I have taken positions largely based on this anticipated newsflow. I suppose it's just up to them at what point in the gear up for activity they release it... before mobilisation, once testing/rig sites are back up etc.
Think of it this way, they said the guys were taking "several weeks off" on the 5th. If you want to be literal that might be the 26th but in reality it was just meant to be a nice way of saying "until April when the dry season starts". Weather for the next week looks ok (but who can say at the actual sites which are far away from the stations closer to the towns.) I expect they'll be trying to get things moving first week of April weather permitting. I wait patiently for an update. Another two weeks without any info and I'll start getting impatient but only because of my own actions in taking positions anticipating the announcement based on past behaviour. When we're on our third drill in July/August I won't care that the UN testing started on the 14th of April or the 28th of April.
