I've come across a recent publication from July by David Greenhalgh out of the USA and Firefighters Regional Burn Centre at the University of California. Greenhalgh discusses where BTM was used on a patient with 90% TBSA burns with excellent results. I have attached the publication below. Disclaimer: the photos are extremely confronting but are quite remarkable.
"In the United States, the two most commonly used matricesare IntegraTM (Integra LifeSciences, USA) and BiodegradableTemporizing MatrixTM (BTMTM) (Polynovo BiomaterialsPty. Ltd., Australia)."
"Like Integra, BTM requires a minimumof 2–3 weeks before it has vascularized enough to acceptan autograft. At that point the outer polyurethane sheet isremoved and covered with a thin autograft. BTM seems tobe more resistant to infection compared to any other dermalsubstitute and seems to minimize the inflammatory response. We have been able to leave the BTM on the face for severalweeks and have had excellent results (Figure 5)."
