Gitmo: I can't agree that expiring shares represent much of loss, on the basis that if they are given to you, giving them back doesn't hurt the way losing something you paid for does - so - all upside, no risk.
Andrew: Certainly better than getting shares with no strings attached, but, once they have them, the share price is of lesser concern - sure, the more they are worth the better (for them), but even if they were 1c apiece, it's 1c that they were gifted - for doing their job (pretty poorly, in that scenario!).
