Speaking from the position of management pawn, the phone call mentioned may not have been too dissimilar to mine. Just that both of us perhaps went into the call with a different outlook, agenda and bias, and went about trying to get info a different way. At no stage did I sense PL wanted to get off the phone with me, but by the sounds of your call, I am not surprised he wanted out. It was mentioned that he was defensive, but that can happen when you are attacking. Some, but not all of what he told me sounded similar to some of the answers you got, just you interpreted it your way and me mine. I also had no intention of hanging him out to dry for deadlines missed in the past as it does not seem to benefit me in any way. I just wanted as much relevant info as I could get. I also enjoyed speaking to him, as it seems you did in a slightly different way. I quite liked some of the answers you were given too, particularly the first one, and still think that management give an optimistic account of where things stand at the time. Thanks for info. Still quietly confident of next day or two, yet nervous just the same.?Perhaps I am now in blind faith territory and no longer in a position to be objective. Perhaps you stand in similar state at the opposite end. We will Find out something soon enough I think.
