Who do you mean by "these types"? Obviously not the idiot who blew himself up. He's not going to achieve anything. Nor is his murdering twenty plus concert goers, except a hardening of attitudes against islam. Nobody believes the crap about "you've beaten us so your god must be stronger than our god, we bow down before your god!" anymore.
The ones pulling the strings need a cause for the idiots to want to blow themselves up. Twenty-something unemployed youth whose ancestral home has been invaded by the U.K., the muslim leader murdered and the economy destroyed is an excellent recruitment demographic. Tack on the "working to create a caliphate" bit and you've got a winner.
Why aren't the recruitment types working hard in Australia's muslim territory to send recruits around the world, or even to Australia, to kill people for the caliphate? Because they aren't interested, life's good, they've never done us any harm, oh look, today's snapper is ready ......
