    Hi jortexx,

There are some upcoming controlled clinical trials that are investigating ivermectin. I think 10,000+ people over two trials, PRINCIPLE (Oxford) and TOGETHER (PUC Minas & McMaster).

Controlled trials are important because they reduce all other factors/influences to a bare minimum, which gives the best chance of identifying if a particular intervention is effective.

The problem with using examples like India and ivermectin use is that there's so many other uncontrolled factors at play as well. By May/June 2021 when invermectin was deployed by some Indian states, the majority of their populations already had COVID anti-bodies from previous infection.

I'm not familiar with the Mexico City example.

What I will have more confidence in is the controlled studies taking place now. They will remove all other factors as much as possible so that the effect of ivermectin can be isolated and analysed.

    Cheers!
