Platts has expanded it's commodity scope to track a Manganese spot price via it's new tracking tool, known as Platts Manganese Ore CFR China, intended to reflect the spot price at the close of Australasian trade.

Platts has long tracked Iron Ore and Steel, which accounts for 90% percent of Manganese consumption.

Now the market place has an independent source of daily market prices for Manganese, reflecting values determined by buyer and seller in the open physical market.
