Interesting how the shorts rose last week to over 80 million and then we get a sudden drop in sp... Insider information?
Or is this scenario possible... Can a big player effectively drop the price without losing too much by shorting lets say 20m shares and then selling 20 million shares at a loss, but recouping the loss by covering the 20m shorts when the price drops?
Or could they sell 10m at a loss and rely on setting off stop losses to do the rest of the work. Perhaps effectively only selling 1 share at a loss for every 2 that they short.
Just asking if this is possible, any ideas?
Very dangerous though if any unexpected good news announcement comes out before the shorts are covered.
