Every Greenie is shocked when seeing statistics how much real world needs fossil energy, not just making electricity.
2021 share of energy sources were:
-33.1% oil
-27% coal
-24.2% natural gas

Total 84.3%Wind got 2.2% and solar 1.1%

The big thing is how slowly wind and solar power have gained since 2000.
It’s useful to understand that fastest growing economies like India and China needs on average much more oil+gas+coal compared to Europe. Also USA is making electricity mostly (60%) by coal and gas. Australia 70%, Japan 68%, China 69%, India 78%. Whole world 62%.
What ever Europe is doing one thing is pretty clear: world is not moving to Green energy very fast at all. It’s safe to estimate that share of oil+gas+coal will dominate around 80% of energy also in 2040. Closing nuclear plants favours especially gas but coal too.
