Western Australia Posts Hottest Summer On Record - ABC News app, Saturday.
"Across WA, temperatures were 1.9 degrees Celsius above the long-term average, making it the warmest summer since observations began in 1910.
"Perth's mean maximum temperatures were 1C to 3C above average, the second-warmest summer on record, with an average of 32.6C.
"The hottest day was February 18 when Carnarvon Airport soared to 49.9C, believed to be the world's hottest temperature so far this year and Australia's highest recorded temperature for the summer.
"Many other records tumbled that day across the state, including at Shark Bay Airport, which reached 49.8C and Geraldton, recording 49.3C.
"In total, Perth had nine days of temperatures at or above 40C, the second-highest ever, with the record being 13 days in summer 2021-22.
"Average minimums were also well above average across the state, with many sites experiencing their warmest nights on record, including Meekatharra, in WA's north, Hyden and Bunbury in the south, and Swanbourne, in metropolitan Perth."
