It’s possible that our friend was home schooled and his over protective mum may have got stuck on trying to explain the premise of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears thus running out of time to explain this simple science explanation?

I’m only guessing about the home schooling but it’s obvious that Wookie struggles to understand the simple rationale behind the scientific explanation of how coral islands grow in size.

Yes I have met one of the authors on the paper documenting storm damage to Acropora species during storms and how this helps reefs grow.
