You may also pick up by looking at it that, the sea level has been going up for over 20,000 years at variable rates. It might make you also feel a bit better about your potential belief that things are anything out side the recent past. Not that the recent past is even anything to hang your hat on as things that are happening today are current and current for a host of reasons, can be outside anything recent, and even long term.
