common sense would tell you that the spike in the temperature over the last 100 yrs would be studied by climate scientists and mathematicians and they would compare it to all the other rises and falls in global temperature so they can make the best possible decisions about what is causing it and use the data to model where it might end up...at times there is difference of opinion on modelling but no difference of opinion on what is causing global warming
