Materials and microplastics in the mud could be potentially fatal to local marine life and kill coral and seagrass - the major food source for fish, the experts have warned.
The mud could also cause algal blooms, which is dangerous to humans.
"When it is blooming there is certainly advice not to go into those waters because it can be an irritant to the skin," Dr Alistair Grinham said.
People are warned against swimming in the bay as it poses a health risk."

I remember after the 2011 Brisbane Floods and the talk was about all the silt and pollution washed into the bay... What they found was that the seagrass actually thrived on the new nutrient which was great for the seacows, turtles etc. the exact opposite of their original claims....but isn't that the way it goes with all the BS science these days. It wont be any different this time. The 2011 floods were much worse BTW.
