Hap007, interesting you seem to be bordering on an obsession with control, which is somewhat off-target.
the folk who want to curb carbon pollution of the atmosphere also want a swift transition to renewable sources of electrical power, essentially generated by wind and solar plus storage.
The issue is electrical power not political power.
i think you also might be over-inflating the desirability of an economy and society powered by fossil fuels, such as oil, gas and coal. Not everyone wants to degrade the place where they live by being locked onto a polluting power source.
fortunately, a transition is underway towards renewables and away from fossil fuels. It should have started in serious fashion a couple of decades ago. We’ve got to crack on with it.
