My simple understanding is that Exergen has the techmology and Mantle has the coal, remembering that the Indian coal house, TATA, is part of Exergen.

I am not a lawyer and don't know the details of the JV.

Would it be possible for Exergen to do a deal with another coal owner in the Latrobe Valley, and leave BM until later.

I suppose anything is possible, including Exergen (especially TATA) making an opportunistic bid for Mantle's coal assets, especially at MNM's ridiculously cheap SP.

Thd Foreign Review Board would be involved if this happened, but TATA need only negotiate a bid for a part of Mantle's coal assets.
