This from 28th March 2012 -
"The Company is also pleased to announce the award of the shaft services
contract for the Impala 16 ventilation shaft, scheduled to be completed in
June 2013, which has a total value of £12.5 million (R148 million)."
and this
"the ventilation shaft will be 1400m deep with a cross-sectional diameter of 6.8m"
Note the completion date and cost for a 1400m deep 6.8m diameter shaft, much deeper than Exergen's 1000m. Probably similar diameter me thinks.
Many things could be different to Latrobe Valley and above price is just an example. I have no idea on time of construction or cost of Exergen's shaft.
