    Government should keep out of private enterprise.

    That means no taxpayer subsidies at all.

    It also means government gets out of the way of
    private enterprise.

    Governments are too slow and usually back the
    wrong horse/s. Look at the tramway in George
    Street. Was that a good idea? No way. It actually
    destroyed private enterprise in George Street
    and buggered the street for commercial vehicles
    and omnibuses (they don't need rails and go
    where you want).

    We've had over 10 years of very low interest rates
    and hardly any capital works spending on genuine
    Australian projects. The money just goes to foreign
    contractors.

    The debt will kill off the crazy subsidies, hopefully,
    and make government spending more careful. (lots of luck).
