I believe it will be more than $50. RHY needs to make money. How long do you think they would be able to sell 1,000,000 test kits? Even so, at $50 a pop it's only $50 million before costs, producing the test kits, marketing, salaries, commissions etc etc, royalties of 2%. And if they sub-licence it's a further 10% of gross sales. CSIRO wants RHY to exploit the use of COLOSTAT in a way that maximises the royalties’ payable to CSIRO and to actively market and promote products
if you were getting tested privately most likely it would be covered by private medical insurance ($300 cost for ColoSTAT for the insurer is better than $4000 for a colonoscopy),
Not sure what you are talking about here. COLOSTAT does not eliminate a COLONOSCOPY prodedure.
Rhythm actually uses a graphic in their presentations of the possible competition for ColoSTAT and the competition either is much more expensive and / or not as good at picking up colorectal cancer. No one is saying Rhythm is the only company offering a product in this space.

No it is not clear after a positive test result from COLOSDTAT would be a colonoscopy. RHY is stating that. In theory it sounds great. However, RHY, intermediaries and from their marketing need to convince GP's to use COLOSTAT. I am not so sure that doctors would be confident (that's why I say they are likely to get the patient to do a FOBT. (it's free every 2 years). Any other time it's $30 out of pocket.
The whole advantage of ColoSTAT - that because ColoSTAT ranks higher in sensitivity and specificity than FIT then there is less chance of a false negative or a false positive result - is glossed over by saying waiting for a test result, any test result, can be stressful.

Rhythm has provided survey results which clearly show that most people prefer a blood test over a faecal test and the stats clearly show the low update of faecal tests. It is very common for older people to have annual blood tests already. All the evidence to hand indicates the very opposite to what was asserted in the post.
You are correct about the low FOTB uptake. Not sure I asserted that people preferred to take an FOBT over a blood test. If I did, then it was a stupid comment and take it back.
It is crystal clear that Rhythm is already talking to the major pathology labs and to public health authorities in numerous countries about the adoption of ColoSTAT. To suggest this process will take another decade is outrageous. You only have to look at how FIT was adopted into mass screening programs to see the time scale a change like this can happen. That Rhythm has recently appointed a second manufacturer for the test kit to help ramp up production puts a lie to that assertion

"Australia is one of a few countries implementing a formal, government funded, population-based CRC screening program - others include the UK, Canada, France, Italy and Finland [42–44]. Following a bowel cancer screening pilot program in 2002-2004 which examined the feasibility, acceptability and cost-effectiveness of the program in the Australian community, the first phase of the National program was rolled out in 2006 and was offered to people turning 55 and 65 years of age. The second phase began in July 2008 and expanded eligibility to all men and women turning 50, 55 or 65. The program targets only specific ages due to limited funding and to ensure that health services can cope with the increased service demands [9]. The target population age range was chosen based on the National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines which indicated the risk of developing bowel cancer increases significantly over the age of 50 years, with over 90% of those diagnosed with CRC in Australia aged over 50 [25]."

Why is it crystal clear? It's MY opinion it could take another decade based on my research. You know what, I don't expect to be 100% correct in the progression of COLOSTAT but I do believe I have raised some very valid points against COLOSTAT. Hang on buddy, FIT/FOBT was first piloted in Australia in 2002 and then they rolled out in iMay 2006. You are wrong about the implied quick time scale to adopt COLOSTAT. Whether to pay or to be free. This is perhaps why RHY states the supposed cost of COLOSTAT (for now). Who knows?
I have to say that the post is one of the most misleading and comprehensively wrong I have seen on hc in more than a decade and a half here. Dangerous in its deception, imo. The only doubt I have is whether it is the result of malice or stupidity.
I don't believe I am being misleading, wrong, deceptive and there is no malice. Clearly stupidity by everyone on this forum.
Take off your blinkers. You also need to look at the glass half empty. It's not always half full.

I really don't expect anyone on here to agree with me because all of you are mostly shareholders looking for big gains (if you aren't already sitting on them). Why am I posting on here? I guess to assert my thoughts and hear what others have to say. I did notice that kiwig was the only shareholder on this forum when it was single digits. Not sure why you would buy more at around $1.00 to increase average. Maybe you have some intel?
