Actually Researcher, I read Greenspans speech late last night,but mustn't have absorbed al of it, probabaly due to the mountain of reading I had already done! What I find unnerving is the 'uncontrollable' debts, and they are what can cripple an economy. As for one poster saying Aus is ok as we didn't lend/ borrow 'irresponsibly' has been proven incorrect on the ANZ thread today, and the CBA off balance sheet derivative position on Thursday evening.
In short , we have skeletons in cupboards, let's hope they stay there...
