    Hi ct

As you pointed out previously most people don't seem to get it that the US of today is akin to the UK of this time last century and that the Brits fell on hard times well before 1929. It just so happens that our wallets, if not yet our hearts and minds, are riding with the main rising economy this time around ie China. So even if the US continues to fall away we should be in for a reasonably good ride for some time yet.

I remember reading an article by Faber some time ago in which he flagged that where we are in the cycle of things means that we stand a fair and increasing chance of major conflict. FWIW I reckon that Pakistan will be in there somewhere - their split from India, their civil war that resulted in Bangledesh, their development of the Taliban, and their promotion of nukes to the Dear Leader amongst others show them to be biggest nutters to have nukes. Hopefully we manage to stay out of this one.

Anyway none of this is going to make me a quid today so best get back to it.

    Cheers
