Yes, a dividend would likely contribute to a higher SP . . . but there are other factors that can influence the SP, such as, but by no means limited to, such as when we recently saw 3 USA banks selling off their MGX holding in order to increase their own cash position. Other factors may include media beat ups, especially with regard to China IO demand . . . and also some imvestors may be concerned about LOM and future direction of MGX.
Idlewanderer, a very knowledgable former MGX holder, referred to a lot of the above as "noise"
A couple of days ago, Convexity, who is a poster worth following on the FMG forum, had something similar to say . . .
"stocks like CBA are 10-20% volatility stocks in ordinary times whereas FMG is 30 - 45%.
Its the same boring coin flipping game each day, just amplified."
MGX is a commodity stock, and as such is subject to greater volatility.
