I agree with regard to the Nobel Prize - as a matter of fact I was discussing this with a neighbour this morning whose son works with a betting agency - I want to make a $100 bet that the professor is nominated for a Nobel prize within 3 years and another $100 bet that he wins a Nobel prize within 4 years.
The neighbour said that's a long (time) bet and yeah, I hope I am around to collect.
Depending on the odds - I will let you know if I can get the bet on and what odds.
Also, if I had been able to get to the Melbourne event I was going to ask Professor Fong a question along the following lines:
" I am a very simple person with not a scientific bone in my body; in fact I sit way out in the bleachers; but in gold mining terms would you consider
Imugene the "El Dorado" of cancer research/cures?"
Interesting to see (perhaps) how this would be deflected or answered.
I have immense faith in Imugene and I will hang in there until the bitter end - through gritted teeth if need be.But having said that, I firmly believe it will be the glorious prize at the end and the Imugene team will be honoured as Aussie heroes and the non Aussie members of the team offered honorary citizenship.
