Precisely. And that is why no serious offer would be unnecessarily low. Yes, they will try to get what they want at the lowest possible price, but it won't be so low as to be ridiculous that it invites rival bids. Hence the offer would also be such that it is so reasonable that it would put off rivals and it would be quite unprofitable for them.
