Just tried a quick Google search to get a decider but couldn't get any thing concrete. I am some what convinced to agree with you now though. I must admit that I was a little surprised when I read that alluvial had greater geological continuity than vein, for the same reasons that you mentioned, but took what I read as gospel as the author seemed reputable, and assumed that there was some underling statistical evidence to support his fact.

Very interesting though I wonder if it is worth while posting this question on the GOLD tread to see what answers are given?
