    Speaking of which my quest to gender modify the hermi to a more desirable female seems to be working going by the absence of male characteristics.

    Bit of trivia, The papaya has typically 3 sexes, male female and hermaphrodite. The male doesn't produce fruit and the female doesn't produce edible fruit unless there is a male plant close by to pollinate. The hermaphrodite can pollinate it's self and produce edible fruit, Almost all commercial papaya orchards contain only hermaphrodites.
