My comment was merely the conclusion to all the commentary I've made on HotCopper so far re: the Voice.
Not meant to be a dissertation. The reasoning, logic, sense of history, ethics etc. can variously be found in my previous posts. People are free to agree or disagree with those.
The "evil" intent is manifold. We're already seeing as such in articles, tinged with bitterness, written especially by former Labor Party figures and empathisers. And it has nothing to do with the universally acknowledged benign wishes for better outcomes for disadvantaged Aboriginals.
Australians deserve a far better explanation for not only 'why' the Voice, but 'what' and 'how'. And why the hell is something so important being sold to us the way it is. It's no coincidence the Voice is heading for defeat...this should NOT be happening, Scott. It's because people feel there's something not right about the whole affair.
As you know, the electorate is 'conservative', as distinct from 'Conservative'. When a Voice architect (Langton) confirms virtual Constitutional anarchy - with the exact intent to destroy its fabric - and another (Davis) confirming it's all about power, contrary to the Prime Minister's "Awww, it's just a voice", therein lies the evil.
History has shown it doesn't like the nation's rule book being messed with. It's game over.
