Quite a few of us pointed out that it was not necessarily a binary outcome, on several different posts, but it was in one ear and out the other. People with short attention spans shouldn't play the market.
I've been investing for many decades now, have read comments from hundreds of analysts and could count the ones I respect on the fingers of one mutilated hand. One that springs to mind is Victor Schvets, the guy who called the insolvency of Adsteam when it was still a market darling. Talk about an "Emperor's not wearing any clothes" moment.
There's some analyst in the US who was shorting the US market heavily for at least a year before the GFC hit because he understood derivatives, but I forget his name. He mentored the female analyst who became famous recently for saying one of the big financials was insolvent... might have been Lehmann I think.
Most analysts are lemmings, but you get the occasional brilliant one.
