Hey, just got back from holidays.

RNI has their Forrest VHMS prospect about 15km south of the Fortnum (now Grosvenor) Au mine. This used to be called Forrest Gimp from Perilya days, when Iain Gregory et al. named their prospects after movies and/or Monty Python (Wodger, Bwyan, etc). It was drilled by Homestake /perilya and then followed up in 04-06 by Gleneagle, who discovered a small Au resource and anomalism along strike. The Google Earth of pre-2014 shows this clearly. RNI followed the existing Cu anomalism shown at Big Billy (~7km south of Fortnum) along the strike of volcanic contact to the south and, as per their ASX releases, found Cu oxide in the existing rock chips. The Gimp was dropped from the name because, well, it's not kosher for this to get loose on ASX releases, is it?

So, similar to DeGrussa, this VHMS mineralisation was an oxide-only supergene cap, with Cu in the hypogene zone beneath. Only by drilling down deep (and checking the drill spoils for Cu minerals) did RNI find the mineralisation. Not economic yet, but proves the point.
