    that's your world, farming is a tough game let alone land banking for possible developer windfalls.
    Why is farming always asking for handouts and free loans.

    One thing you fail to recognize in your analysis is that China and India are far far behind in technology in farming, they simply haven't had the money and is still very labour intensive, using basic methods. However, with only 10% of the land, they have still managed to feed 20% of the world population and have massive water resources. Still using cattle and plough. 300 million farmers.

    Once they catch up to our levels of automation and investment in equipment, which they will, your dream of Australian farming land being some outperforming asset will vapourise as China catches up.
    Farmers struggle here already and they have a massive advantage - so far!
