There was an article in the weekend fin review weekend before last about split loans - one mortgage split into separate accounts, one for private purposes and another for investment. All payments of interest and principal on the investment account are deferred until the home loan is paid off.
The ATO wants the high court to rule on the loans, but mortgage providers are going ahead regardless.
