    My guess is that some leveraged players got a margin call in the face of investor redemptions.

    I remember the selldown of OGC down to 20c. It was later disclosed that some US based hedge fund by the name of Ospraire (something like that) was dumping all their holdings in a liquidation.

    This kind of selling with complete abandon looks like a total liquidation under pressure.
